I will stamp all over 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to build hype for next month's bout.

Ex two time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's greatest financial successes, consistently making massive paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As both boxers met for the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really going ahead.
